EFW Silent Tornado Review

Quite simply and without any doubt the best bathroom fan we have ever tested. The Silent Tornado is the most powerful, most energy efficient and quietest four inch axial fan available from any manufacturer in the UK. Its vital numbers - 97m3/hr extraction rate | 7.5w energy usage | 25dB(A) out perform all other four inch axial extractor fans.

It has an IPX5 (Ingress Protection) rating - "Resistant to jets of water from all angles". This means it can be installed in any of the bathroom zones without requiring a separate low voltage transformer, cutting install time and cost in half.

It features eleven forward curved impellers which generate a much higher air pressure than standard axial fans. This means it may be ducted up to 6m in a straight run or 3m with with 2 right angled bends without compromising performance. It comes with integral back draught shutters to prevent chilly draughts entering the bathroom.

The pull cord offers local switching. However, the ST100PC may still be wired into your lighting circuit so that it comes on and off with the lights. The pull cord is useful for turning off the fan when the lights are then on. Alternatively, the ST100PC may be isolated by a standard three pole fan isolator switch, so that the pull cord provides master on / off.
